A case has been filed in connection with the gang-rape of two readymade garment (RMG) factory workers in Kaliakoir upazila of Gazipur. Officer-in-Charge of the Kaliakoir police station Abul Fazal Mohammad Nasim said mother of one of the victims, as plaintiff, filed a written complaint with the police station on Friday night, accusing two people,Sajjad,Sakib and several other unnamed persons.
He said police recorded it later as a case under Women and Children Repression Prevention Act. According to the complaint, two female garment workers went to visit Baishakhi Mela at Mouchak village with one of their male colleagues around 8:30pm on Thursday.
Some locals, including Sajjad and Sakib, picked up forcibly and took the three to a club room in Jamtala Bazar area.They confined the male colleague and beat him up. Later, the accused violated two women to a nearby forest in Arabari area. The official said they are trying to arrest the accused.
